An organization’s vantage point is everything. Vantage Road Partners was built for the moments where vision must meet reality. “It isn’t just AI that brings remarkable opportunities to business. Another opportunity for breakthrough thinking is the changing attitudes of smarter consumers, the big shift in employee mindset and growing societal pressures.”

Komie Jain
Founder, Partner
Komie Jain is a global executive, advocate, and attorney who believes business and social good are not a tradeoff. She is a Founding Partner and General Counsel of Vantage Road Partners, where she leads client work at the intersection of regulatory strategy, corporate social responsibility, community engagement, and industrial policy — with depth in the advanced manufacturing sector.
Komie brings first-hand experience that few advisors can match. At the CHIPS Program Office, Department of Commerce, she served as the Chief Environmental Review and Permitting Officer for the Agency and Director of the Environmental Division — building and directing the environmental unit responsible for navigating one of the most consequential applications of the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) in recent federal history. She oversaw simultaneous environmental assessments for the nation’s largest semiconductor investments, including TSMC, Intel, Samsung, and Micron, while managing the dual risks of delay and litigation that threatened to derail a $39 billion industrial policy program.
She also designed the broader environmental permitting and evaluation framework for CHIPS grantmaking and built partnerships across communities, state agencies, regulators, and Congress to advance complex facility permit approvals. The program’s director has publicly credited her as “truly excellent: knowledgeable about the substance, highly effective in project management, and savvy in applicant interactions.”
At National Grid, Komie built and led a global Center of Excellence for social impact and community engagement, overseeing a $60M philanthropy portfolio and developing the stakeholder strategies that protect a major energy company’s license to operate across New York, New England, and the United Kingdom. Earlier, as Senior Vice President at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and a senior leader at the American Chemistry Council, she shaped federal and state regulatory policy across environmental, manufacturing, and chemical sectors — directing legal, legislative, and public communications strategy at the highest levels of industry advocacy. She has also served as a trusted spokesperson before Congress, federal agencies, state legislatures, and international bodies including the OECD.
A licensed attorney in Virginia and the District of Columbia, Komie has navigated complex permitting environments, advised Fortune 500 companies on regulatory compliance, and served as a board-appointed regulator on the State Water Control Board of Virginia — promulgating regulations and approving major water permits under two governors. She knows these challenges from every seat at the table — government, industry, community, and counsel — and brings that full perspective to every client engagement.
“Every company operates with the consent of the communities around it — whether they recognize it or not. That consent is earned through consistent, genuine engagement: showing up before you need something, listening before you speak, and treating community voice as a legitimate input into decisions that shape people’s lives. Done well and done early, community engagement is one of the most powerful tools a company has. Neglected, it becomes one of the greatest risks.”
“True organizational leadership means engaging with the community not as a box to check, but as a meaningful responsibility — listening to their needs, giving back through service, and respecting the public’s voice in the processes that shape our common future.”

Charles Fields
Founder, Partner
Charles Fields is a Founder and Partner of Vantage Road Partners, where he helps leaders turn complex strategy into executable operating systems.
His work starts from a simple belief: when strategy stalls, the issue is rarely effort alone. More often, the operating model is unclear, decision rights are blurred, governance is too weak, or the organization lacks the cadence and accountability required to deliver.
Charles works with CEOs, COOs, Chief Corporate Affairs Officers, boards, and transformation leaders who are facing high-stakes priorities in complex environments. He helps them build the practical infrastructure behind execution: governance models, portfolio discipline, KPI architecture, operating cadence, cross-functional coordination, and clear ownership.
He brings a rare cross-sector perspective across energy and utilities, financial services, technology, life sciences, regulated operations, public-sector operations, and nonprofit leadership. His experience includes supporting the buildout of a transatlantic Corporate Affairs function at National Grid, developing Federal Reserve-approved business continuity work for Goldman Sachs, leading transformation and operating model work across financial services, FinTech, and pharmaceutical environments, serving as Deputy Secretary of State for New York, and serving as Chief Operating Officer of a nationally recognized civil-rights legal organization.
His work has produced measurable outcomes in high-pressure environments. While serving at the New York State Department of State, Charles helped oversee the design and development of New York Business Express, a statewide digital platform created to reduce friction for businesses navigating state-agency requirements. He also helped stabilize the New York State Athletic Commission during the implementation of legalized professional MMA in New York, including the state’s first major UFC event, which generated $37.4 million in economic output, $18.3 million in wages, 300 jobs, and $1.6 million in state tax revenue.
Charles has also led restructuring and transformation work in the nonprofit sector, including helping stabilize a national organization through an acute financial crisis, a major workforce restructuring, and the restoration of positive cash flow and financial stability.
At Vantage Road Partners, Charles is the firm’s execution architect — the partner focused on making sure strategy has the structure, governance, and operating discipline required to hold under pressure. He is particularly effective when the strategy is directionally right, the stakes are high, and leaders need to move from intent to measurable progress.
“Strategy only matters if the organization is built to deliver it.”
